Siding Replacement Service

A siding replacement should do more than change the color. It is a chance to reconsider the finish, the transitions, and the condition of the wall beneath.

Start with the existing exterior.

Cracking, loose panels, finish deterioration, impact damage, or repeated repairs can prompt a replacement conversation. The right scope depends on how widespread the issue is and what is happening behind the visible surface.

An assessment should consider existing cladding, wall condition, openings, penetrations, and signs that need further investigation. A photograph is helpful, but it cannot establish the condition of concealed framing or sheathing.

  • Compare a targeted repair with a more complete replacement.
  • Identify removal, preparation, and disposal needs.
  • Review material and trim choices across the whole elevation.
  • Define how concealed damage will be assessed and priced.

Keep the details that make your home yours.

Window proportions, rooflines, stone or brick accents, and existing trim all influence the finished exterior. Samples and project photographs can help you compare a quiet lap profile with a stronger vertical pattern.

Replacement also creates an opportunity to align gutters, fascia, trim, and other exterior work. Coordinate those items in the proposal rather than assuming they are included in a siding price.

Know what affects the investment.

Wall area, number of stories, access, removal requirements, product selection, trim complexity, and concealed repairs all affect the estimate. A home’s floor area is not the same as its exterior wall area.

Ask for a written scope that identifies material, finish, preparation, exclusions, and the process for approving changes. Current product and labor warranty terms should be supplied with the proposal.

A few useful answers

Before you begin.

Can only one elevation be replaced?

Sometimes a partial scope is appropriate. Matching the existing material, finish, exposure, and surrounding details needs to be assessed before a partial replacement is promised.

Will the old siding need to come off?

That depends on the existing assembly and the proposed system. Removal versus another approved approach should be evaluated for the property, not assumed from a general rule.

What if damage is found after removal?

The proposal should explain how concealed conditions are documented, discussed, and approved before additional work proceeds.
